For several years I had been plagued with stenosis, which sent pain across the lower back and down my leg. I had surgery, which seemed to cure the problem but 6 months later I was back with the same pain. That was 10 years ago and the situation has gotten worse to the point where I can only walk a half block before I need to sit down, and I am increasingly more bent over.
A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to try a new machine, called the PelvicRestrainer. I was positioned on the machine and cinched across the lower back and below the buttocks, after which I was told to turn left, right, bend backwards, raise my right leg straight back and this lasted for 20 minutes. Then I was unstrapped and for the first time in years I stood straight and then walked for one block and back.
The pain returned but the next day we did the routine again and once again I was straight and this time I walked 2 blocks without stopping. This is only a temporary solution but I am looking forward to see a physical therapist who will teach me to use the machine, which I intend to purchase. I was told that this does not work for everyone, but this is the first ray of hope I have had in years. .
